A message from Artistic Director Jim Frangione
Dear Friends,
Great Barrington Public Theater has great news to share! The last several weeks, we’ve been busy curating and creating wonderful new material in preparation for Bear Tales: Six Feet Together, a special, full-length theatrical premiere presentation coming to you on April 27. Please save the date, keep in touch with our site and social media, and stay tuned for this special show.
This standalone, online program showcases new work by many of our region’s most talented performers, playwrights and storytellers, including Alexandra Angeloch, Michael Brady, Will LeBow, Elizabeth Nelson, Aimee Doherty, Cindy Parrish, Jessica Provenz, Andy Reynolds, Anne Undeland, plus a brand new one-woman play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet, with the accomplished actress Rebecca Pidgeon taking on the role of Dorothy Kilgallen! You will also get to take in an especially captivating marionette theater piece by film and theater designer, art director, illustrator Carl Sprague. Many of these solo performers were originally scheduled to premiere onstage for Bear Tales Solo Performance Festival in late May, but will now be seen even sooner online.
Thanks for standing with us, and for keeping us close (although not too close!). We’ll have updates for you soon, specifically about our 2020 summer season. In the meantime, you’ll love what we’re bringing to you in just a few days—April 27. We appreciate your support and your solidarity with Great Barrington Public Theater, and we look forward to re-lighting our stage for you soon. Until then, stay tuned…
Jim Frangione
